Our Safeguarding

We hold safeguarding as our NUMBER 1 PRIORITY
Each venue has all the below policies and procedures in place and ALL staff have been recruited in line with The Kick Start Academy's policies.

Ofsted Inspector Comments: “KSA’s recruitment procedures are robust and all the necessary steps are put in place to ensure all staff are trained to the highest level before school holiday delivery”. April 2018
  • Child Security

It is essential that a parent/guardian register and sign out their child. If another adult is collecting your child, or you are collecting your child before the pre-booked pick-up time then please inform our Venue Coordinator. This is important!

At the end of each day children must be signed out by an authorised adult. If your child is allowed to travel to and from camp by themselves, they will require written authorisation on the Camp Consent Form

  • Child Protection Statement

KSA Camps believe that it is always unacceptable for a child or young person to experience abuse of any kind and recognises its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people, by a commitment to practice which protects them.

A copy of our full Child Protection Policy is made available for you at each venue. However, you may wish to read it in full prior to booking your child into KSA Camps. Contact us if you wish to do this and we’ll happily provide you with a copy.

  • Equal Opportunities Statement

We welcome children of all religious beliefs, faiths, cultures and abilities. Every child who participates is of equal value.

Equal opportunities is extremely important to us, regardless of race, religion, language, culture, gender, health, ability, personality or lifestyle. We adhere to the framework detailed in the following Acts:

    • Sex Discrimination Act (SDA) 1975
    • Race Relations Act (RRA) 1976
    • Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000
    • Disability Discrimination Act 1995
    • Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
    • Equal Pay Act 1970 (amended 1983)

We promote positive behaviour and attitudes, seeking to understand and educate ourselves in relation to other people’s needs. Discriminating behaviour, attitudes and comments will be challenged, regardless of whether they are from children, staff or parent/carers. We will regularly review our policy and amend it where necessary.

  • Bullying and Behaviour Policy

Our Anti-Bullying Statement is available for you to see at each camp venue. If you’d prefer to read it prior to attending then please contact us for a copy. We take a strong stance on bullying: we have ZERO TOLERANCE.

    Behaviour Policy

Our Behaviour Code of Conduct is available to see at each camp venue. Alternatively, you may contact us to view this policy.

  • Parent Responsibilities

We would expect you to inform us both verbally and via your booking of any potential behaviour issues that would help us deal with your child whilst at KSA Camps. You should be aware of the expected behaviour when your child attends camp and we would expect you to support any action taken by our staff to encourage good behaviour.

Other policies can be requested or can be viewed at any time whilst at camp.

Our holiday club activities:

KSA Camps are planned for every school holiday for your children to enjoy, and you can be safe in the knowledge that they are in the best possible care. KSA Holiday Camps want you and your child to experience the BEST holiday camp around!

Children all enjoy doing different things, so we have various activities on offer to ensure that your child can choose from a number of activities which are tailored to the groups age, interests and size.

We pre-plan every activity,  and we encourage your child to choose their activities throughout the day. There is always more than one activity taking place to ensure everyone is enjoying their version of a perfect day.

Activities rotate around each of our venues and you can view when they are next at your club by contacting your venue coordinator. We cater for all children, meaning we have a varied programme of indoor sports, outdoor sports and non-sport activities, if your child would prefer to read in the quiet room, draw a picture, or create something magical, we have it covered.
